Where have I been? After putting down the article: How a Marriage Survives When One Partner Gets Sick (http://www.more.com/2024/7563-how-a-marriage-survives-when), I went to sleep and had a dream about riding a tidal wave. Not my usual one of outrunning the wave, but this time I was riding atop it.
We have been home now almost a month. He is rapidly recovering and we are grateful as he moves towards a FULL recovery. My wave has gently beached me on shore. As I take a moment to bask in the sunshine, I ground my experience into the earth – ready to share the wisdom of my wave journey. The breathtaking photography in this issue was taken by my dear friend and sister Nurse Midwife Jeanne Barreira. Enjoy!
Riding Our Tidal Wave The past year has been a time for so many of us being challenged by tidal waves. A day doesn’t go by without my hearing about a transformational, challenging, transition, which a client, friend or an acquaintance is traveling through. If we are not the one riding the waves, each of us has been close enough to be feeling the wake impact of their tidal wave. We all are wondering why? What is going on? and how do I prepare for this? Well, the “how do I prepare for this” is the part of us that desires to stay safe and in control. Throughout my current journey, as I continue to be re-educated in this deeply, powerful manner, I have learned, that we remain safe only when we are willing to relinquish remaining in control. This REQUIRES allowing whatever is no longer necessary for the next step of our soul progression to fall away, shake apart, or to just suddenly release and be gone.
Consequently, whatever impedes our ability to; remain connected to source, remember who we are as a spirit, and why we are here, is literally washed away. Despite the upheaval that has impacted all aspects of my life, riding my personal tidal wave has been an amazing peak experience. This time of distillation and true clarity totally realigned me to the authentic wisdom of every moment. I only had the time and energy to tend to what was really important and for all of the rest, friends and family have stepped up to fill in the spaces. What a gift to feel so totally loved and supported. Isn’t that what really being alive is about? The Global Coherence Initiative is currently conducting a research project that is measuring how big world events impact us as individuals physically, emotionally, and spiritually. You can check it out at http://www.glcoherence.org/ Yummy Winter Oat Groats aka Steel Cut Oats or Irish Oats I received inspiration for this recipe from MORE magazine. They suggested creating a large pot for the week. I adapted the measurements to make some every evening. I love waking up to the smell of simmering warm nutritious food filling our home. Ingredients for 4 Servings: Slow cooker Mix. Place on low overnight. In the morning, add ground flax seeds, yoghurt, and your favorite nuts to increase protein and nutrient content. Enjoy this amazing start to your day! Tips for Riding Your Tidal Wave When we need these skills the most is when we have no time and need most to be in present time and aware and connected.

by Flo Aeveia Magdelena Check out the contributing chapter written by Teresa! Living Our Potential as Beings of Light The family system is our first and most intimate experience of the world. It is where we learn about love, sharing, generosity, co-creation, and honoring—or about hate, reaction, fear, anger, and separation. The family may be a spiritual haven and a loving place of growth or a place of absent presence, where we physically live together but do not connect. We either make this connection and create a foundation in our childhood or spend our lives looking for it. When parents establish a conscious heart/soul connection with their children and with each other, deeper levels of trust and safety are experienced. As we deepen our bonds, we are more sensitive to the subtle, nonverbal communication which we exchange at all times with all living organisms. Relationships are not bound by normal restrictions because the information sent via channels of sensory response are unaffected by language, beliefs, or convention. You are connected beyond earthly rules, and can therefore create a unique relationship that works for your family. Her mom, Corrie, discovered a lump in her breast in March — an aggressive cancer that led to a double mastectomy a week later, followed by chemotherapy. Days before discovering the lump, Corrie learned that she was pregnant. Sophia has emerged into the world healthy. Her family wants to do all they can to help her to recover from chemotherapy exposure in utero and support her developing immune system with the best resource available — human milk — ideally through flu season. At two weeks old, Sophia is thriving solely on donated breast milk! We estimate she is drinking about 35-40 ounces per day. Our goal is to provide Sophia with a minimum of six months of breast milk. Thanks to some very generous people, we are optimistic that this goal may become a reality. We are currently seeking your help. Buying milk through the Mother’s Milk Bank costs up to $140/day, to cover pasteurizing and testing. If you know of any women who would be interested in donating breast milk for Sophia, they can check out this website for more information or contact Corrie (cbeauvineau@yahoo.com) directly. If you are interested, there are two ways to get involved:
