Living Intuitive Observations |
|
Over the past few weeks, I have revisited a prayer practice involving my name saint. For many of us, prayer means correctly reciting magical words in order to be rewarded with our desire. I was raised with that kind of relationship with prayer. How many of us have prayed for a healthy pregnancy or for someone’s illness to be healed? We have gone on to do all of the right things and yet feel let down or disappointed when our request is not delivered. I now experience prayer as a form of communication. The act itself is the spiritual practice. There is something I learn from the discipline of taking the daily quiet time during which I ponder, digest, feel, and not just merely read the words to be done with them. When I pray, I share with spirit my needs and desires. I have learned to know and trust that I have communicated; and now my job is to calm my heart and mind so I can perceive, hear, and understand the response. An essential and challenging piece is to remain open to the prayer being answered in a manner I may not have initially envisioned. When I am able to align myself with the vibration and energy of remaining open, I then become in alignment with my miracle. I believe for most of us women who have gotten so accustomed to feeling in control of our lives, the true miracle is not the delivery of the response but in our ability to remain open to a response. When I am teaching parents how to communicate with the spirit of their unborn child either in a fertility promotion or pregnancy reading, the process is the same. Asking a question, requesting that the answer comes in a way that we can understand, and aligning ourselves with the energy of that being. The week I was focusing on a specific prayer series. I experienced the following responses from nature:
With each of these gifts from nature, I listened to a niggle that said, “Lift up your head, look out the window, look down at your feet.” For me these gifts fed me in that “yes your communication is being heard.” I became reinforced with patience, and in the not knowing of how all the specifics will unfold, but trusting in the peace of knowing that it will be in perfect time and space, all of this, while I bask in the glow of being connected and in the flow. I invite you to start your communication with spirit and flow. |

Grounding Over the years, I have heard several different folk singers cover this song, Holy Now, written by the Peter Mayer from Minnesota. Most recently was this week, during a house concert held in our office performed by Rivers Voice. As I listened to the song being performed, the essence of the lyrics reverberated within every cell of my being. His words spoke to me, reflecting the synchrony I have been experiencing between my prayer practice and nature. For this month’s meditation, I am sharing these lyrics with you. I invite you to read beyond the Christian references to church and communion and hear, feel, and know deep within in you that “So the challenging thing becomes May this month’s meditations be full of acknowledging the miracles you encounter every day.
